Roel Theissen (1968) works as a prudential supervision lawyer at Houthoff, an independent, leading law firm headquartered in the Netherlands, with offices in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, London and New York and with representatives in Houston and Singapore. At Houthoff, Theissen focuses on advising financial institutions and their clients on the interpretation and application of European and/or Dutch law. This covers areas such as handling capital, managing claims and their sale, market access and the liquidation of banks and insurers. This can be done proactively in preparation for discussions with counterparties or regulatory bodies, as well as through assisting in situations where there is already a difference of opinion.
He will also be involved in Houthoff’s internal training programme and will help its lawyers expand their knowledge in this fast-growing area of law.
